Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has revealed when he believes that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit could finally end. Indeed, the Ripple head recently discussed the legal battle. Speaking at XRPL Apex 2024, he revealed when he believes a resolution could be on its way.

The lawsuit has been an ongoing issue for the company. Since being served with the lawsuit four years ago, Ripple and its native XRP token have struggled. However, Garlinghouse spoke optimistically regarding an end to that lawsuit, which could be here sooner rather than later.

Ripple CEO Expects SEC Lawsuit Resolution Soon?

Ripple (XRP) has struggled notably throughout 2024 so far. Indeed, the token has not been able to take full advantage of a booming digital asset market. That has only been pronounced by tokens like Bitcoin (BTC) reaching landmark prices.

Yet, one of the biggest hindrances facing the company and its token appears to be nearing an end. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently revealed when its legal fight with the SEC could end. Specifically, he noted that it may end a lot sooner than people expect.

“You know, in some ways, you look at that now, and you say we’re almost at the very end of that journey,” Garlinghouse said. “The judge will make the decision when she makes the decision. My estimation is sometime before the end of summer.”

Garlinghouse then stated, “Somebody asked me if it would be by the end of August. I pointed out that September 21st is the end of summer, so I don’t know.” Considering those remarks, the lawsuit should be nearing its conclusion in a matter of months.

That will certainly be good news for XRP. Over the last 30 days, the token has fallen by more than 5%, according to CoinMarketCap. An overall market downturn has weighed heavily on its performance. A turnaround could entirely depend on the momentum from a legal resolution in September.
